Heidi Klum turned herself into a giant severed hand for her 25th Halloween party

For the 25th anniversary of her Halloween party, Heidi Klum arrived at Cathédrale in New York inside a giant replica of her own severed left hand — wedding ring, “Tom” tattoo and all.

Summary

  • Heidi Klum’s 2026 Halloween costume is a giant, bloodied replica of her own severed left hand, unveiled at her 25th annual party at Cathédrale in New York City on October 31.
  • The build was created with longtime collaborator Mike Marino and took five to six hours to get into; her legs form two of the fingers, finished with red nails and gold rings.
  • Details go all the way down: a recreation of her wedding ring from husband Tom Kaulitz and the “Tom” tattoo on the ring finger.
  • The reveal became the most viral moment of Halloween night, topping competitor feeds with over 100,000 likes on Complex Pop’s post alone.

Twenty-five years into hosting Halloween’s most scrutinized costume party, Heidi Klum found a new way to stop the carpet: herself, as her own left hand. Separated, bloodied, ten feet of it — with her face emerging beside the gash at the wrist and hazmat-suited handlers escorting her in.

“My left hand inspired me,” Klum said on the carpet. The costume copies her palm lines, veins, red manicure and jewelry, right down to the tattoo tribute to husband Tom Kaulitz, who was away on tour. Marino — the Oscar-nominated prosthetics designer behind The Penguin — called the build one of the most complicated of his career, engineered around a load-bearing internal harness.

Guests including Questlove, Neil Patrick Harris and her daughter Leni (as Miss Piggy) did their best, but the hand took the night. Year 25, and the queen is not giving the crown back.
