  • His estate and Rhymesayers Entertainment have launched the DOOMSDAY 2026 commemorative collection for the sixth anniversary, created with Collectionzz and comic artist Sanford Greene — apparel, posters, trading cards and skateboards.
  • Complex Music’s anniversary tribute drew more than 95,000 likes overnight, the biggest music post in competitor feeds this cycle.

Every Halloween now carries a second meaning for hip-hop. On October 31, 2020, Daniel Dumile — MF DOOM, the metal-faced villain — died in Leeds, England, at 49. In keeping with a career built on mystery, the world only found out two months later, when his family announced it on New Year’s Eve.

Six years on, the mask has not faded — it has multiplied. DOOM’s sample-collage masterpieces, from Operation: Doomsday to Madvillainy, his 2004 landmark with Madlib, and MM..FOOD, keep pulling in new generations, and his influence runs through everyone from Tyler, The Creator to Earl Sweatshirt and the entire underground that followed him.

To mark the sixth anniversary, the estate has unveiled the DOOMSDAY 2026 collection with Rhymesayers and Collectionzz, featuring artwork by Sanford Greene across apparel, posters, trading cards and skateboards. Expect it to move fast — DOOM drops always do.

Long live the villain. Just remember ALL CAPS when you spell the man name.
